Hailing from the “The City of Steel” – Pittsburgh, PA, comes Frzy, one of the industry’s most versatile recording artists Regardless of Genre. Being born and raised in Pittsburgh, Frzy has embodied the hard working, blue-collar reputation of the city, yet he continues to reach new heights in his career, maintaining a strong relationship with the community all the while continuing to grow his national presence.
Frzy’s music career first started after competing in several rap competitions in Pittsburgh, PA. Competition was always fierce, but the end result each time was the same – he won every battle and was officially crowned as the “King of the City.” Known simply as “Freestyle” at that time, a reputation based title, Frzy also took part in many rap battles in New York City. As a newcomer, Frzy challenged the city’s most skilled battle rappers and crews. Most notably, Frzy entered into a street battle sponsored by DJ Kay Slay of the HOT 97’s “Drama Kings”. He challenged the entire lineup at the famed Pyramid Club’s rap battle showcase. Frzy was the last rapper left rhyming – he had defeated every opponent. His intensity as a performer and his unique ability to craft songs quickly were so impressive; it earned him a spot to perform alongside Naughty by Nature on Nelly’s St. Lunatics Tour. There, he performed for crowds as deep as 30,000. Yet, this was only the beginning. Frzy soon after became the official commercial spokesperson for Subway, debuting their Subway Melt. He also added Rick Ross, Lil Wayne, MGK, Wale, and many others to his performance resume’, further increasing his marketability and exposure.
Frzy is a true MC. He crafts everything to contain a lyrical punch while having a confident delivery filled with wit and instant charisma. In 2011, coming off the success of his mix-tape “Orientation”, Frzy entered into what has proven to be the collaboration of a lifetime with industry veteran Dj Wonderboy. In 2012 under the mentorship and guidance of Wonderboy, Frzy officially became the face of Mogul Moves, a lifestyle brand focused primarily on music that Frzy has represented since. In 2012 Frzy released the Mix-tape “iStyle” under Mogul Moves to incredible critical reception, including over 50,000 downloads to date with little national promotion. Again, this is proving to only be the start for Frzy.
Be it film, audio, modeling or songwriting, Frzy has proven time and time again he has the ingredients to make an impact in the entertainment industry on many levels; not just as an MC. As his growth on the national stage becomes more widespread, Frzy continues to put Pittsburgh on the map in the minds of Hip-Hop fans and music lovers alike.
